Summary | 0004430: Still problem with cyclic redirect
Description | My original bug report 3613 was marked as duplicate and closed afterwards (and trying to reopen it results in an error message "Access denied" :-( ). I don't quite understand how an older bug report can become a duplicate of a newer one (3910), especially when I explicitely mentioned in additional information to my bug report that the problem is not caused by missing cookies support, whereas the other bug report explicitely mentions having cookies turned off as reason of the problem. Anyway, I the problem still exists even in the newest release. I experimented little bit more and found the following: Browser Links contains a special section in preferences called "HTTP bug workarounds". One of the listed options is "Broken redirect 302" with description "it violates RFC, but is compatible with Netscape". Turning this workaround on allows browsing bugtracker repository. I hope this helps you to locate the bug in Mantis Bug Tracker and resolve it. Thanks Tomas

I tried this with Links 2.1pre15 and other older versions of Links and ELinks - all on two diffrent OS's with the 302 workaround on and off - in text and graphics mode, and cannot reproduce the issue. I can view bugs and navigate throughout bugs.mantisbt.org without issue. Could you please include the version information. Could you also try again to reproduce this with the bugs.mantisbt.org, in case something was fixed that just happened to side-effect this issue. |

Sorry for a slightly longer response this time. I'm using 2.1pre14 built for OS/2 - the binary downloaded directly from the site of Mikulas Patocka or Hobbes archive (http://hobbes.nmsu.edu). However, I have a good news for you - I checked again now, and it seems to be fixed (most probably really side effect of some other change, because nothing has changed regarding the installed version of Links or its settings - in addition, I can still reproduce the problem on the original site where I found it and which is still running some older version of your software - I'll advise them to upgrade it now ;-) ). In any case, thank you for your support! Tomas |

Magicodically fixed from some other code fix or enhancement, as noted by the reporter. |
