Summary | 0006685: News items should probably propagate down to sub-projects
Description | Let's say I make a project P and then create two sub projects P.1 and P.2. Then I create a news item for P (i.e. with P as the selected project), then only people that have selected P as project will see this news item. If one selects P.1 or P.2 the news item disappears.
Steps To Reproduce |
| ||||
Additional Information | I think it would be better if this news Item "propagated down" to P.1 and P.2 as well, in the same manner as a news item for all projects will show up independent of what project was selected. When I log into Mantis I will automatically end up in P.1 (as per user settings) since this is the project I am currently most involved in. Then I will never see the news that is posted for the whole project, i.e. for P.

Reminder sent to: giallu I believe what should be inherited from projects to sub-projects should be configurable. This should apply to versions, categories, news, etc. Giallu, what do you think? It would be nice if we can include this into your news wiki specs. |

Honestly, I tried for a while to use the project/subproject concept in my local installation, but in the end I gave up because:
That said, I think the news rework we are planning for 0002077 will affect this issue as well, so I will note how the news will behave afterward. |
