I am unable to reproduce this issue. Normally, you shouldn't be able to create a user name containing special characters; you should receive an "APPLICATION ERROR 805: The username is invalid. Usernames may only contain letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, and underscores." (verified with both 0.19.2 and current CVS). How did you create the user? |
Yep, that's right. I said username although I meant the real name, which is displayed in the "Assign to:" and "Reported by:" drop downs. |
I'm unable to reproduce this problem with either a clean 0.19.2 install or the CVS version. Could you take a look inside your database whether the real name is stored with HTML symbols there? |
The real name is stored with HTML symbols (e.g. 'Jens Müller' is stored as 'Jens Müller'). I have to note that the database was originally created with mantis 0.19.0 and updated to 0.19.1 and 0.19.2. |
I just noticed that I have two users containing a special character (ä or ö) in their usernames. It was no problem to create them. The usernames are stored without the HTML symbols unlike the real names. All users were created using 0.19.0. |
I've just taken a look inside my playground database - user names are stored with the internal representations here, no HTML equivalents. (Applies to both CVS HEAD and 0.19.2, both users created with these versions). I suggest you "touch" these two users using the management functions to get a quick workaround. If anyone else has encountered this problem, we should consider writing an update script to automatically change the full name. |
Ok, touching the users worked. Now everything seems to be ok. |
